D.H. project 2024 recap: Highlights from the past year

The year 2024 was a very successful and special year for Dolce Hera, which also marked her final return to live performances following the launch of the D.H. music project in 2023.

The year 2024 began by receiving a valuable scholarship from the Milos Karadaglic Foundation for an audio-visual project, which showed an important recognition of the value of her musical creativity.

The project she realized through their support is the music video for the new single Trivial Lovers, written and directed by Dolce Hera and recorded in Studio 360 Porto Montenegro.

The idea that inspired this music video is the artistic step higher within the framework of the D.H. project and the assuming the new role of the lead vocalist of this third single, with which she announces an important aspect of the upcoming album.

Dolce Hera, not only as a music author, drummer and songwriter, but now also as a performer, presented the new single Trivial Lovers at the Rubix Festival 2024 in Porto Montenegro.

The music video of this Latin song, which is set on Mars as an animation, with very unusual costumes and action, represents something completely different from everything she has presented to the audience so far.

The deep projection of her signature way of visual communication of her art has been raised to a higher level.

The performance at the Rubix Festival as a scholarship holder of the Milos Karadaglic Foundation represented her return to live performances and the opportunity to show the audience her authentic approach to art on stage.

The performance that in only five acts presented the most diverse types of sound, aesthetics, effects and roles, both as a vocalist and as a drummer, with special guests and the presentation of two novelties from D.H. project: music video for Trivial Lovers and Uncommon Dreams remix by Bizarr Duo.

In October 2024, Dolce Hera with the song “REPEAT” entered the selection of 16 finalists who will perform at the Montesong 2024 festival, the national selection for Eurovision 2025.

Montesong 2024 festival represented an important opportunity for Montenegrin musicians to show their work to a wide international audience.

At the festival itself, Dolce Hera performed a particularly significant performance with which she presented her artistic work and the meaning of the designation of an uncommon artist.

The performance that speaks of artistic freedom, but also the freedom of the individual’s soul and spirit from the imposed expectations of today’s society.

Freedom from being enslaved by the imposed expectations of others, from the social ladder woven from material values, freedom from presenting oneself as perfect.

The special strength of this performance lies in the suit she gave to the artist, i.e. the individual – a long jute sack dress with the words “society”, “expectations”, “love”, “normal”, “repeat” written on it.

The verses in which she sings off-key showing the artist’s freedom from her artwork, the relationship of dominance over it, an idea she symbolically expresses already in the Trivial Lovers music video by whipping the congas (percussion, read: drums, her instrument and the source of her art), as an ultimate experiment that actually tests the artistic freedom  of the artist to play with the idea of the eternal seeking for the perfect performance of his artwork.

The signature approach to the visual communication of her music lies in the moment of the so-called. transformations on stage recognizable in her previous work.

The transformation from the jute sack dress that represents the false beauty we take on by accepting to be burdened by these written notions on the costume, notions that we cover ourselves with in this way thinking that then we are more beautiful.

A dress made of jute sack that simultaneously plays with the concept of fashion and shows the dependence of the success of an outfit on the strength of the personality that wears it, even if it is just a jute sack.

The transformation that represents the liberation from these concepts is the transition to a new costume as the most glamorous version of yourself, the authentically free one that does not care about the maniacal search for perfection in any sense.

The version that gives freedom of movement, freedom from a heavy jute string necklace, that allows you to devote yourself to what you love most, what you have a talent for, what your true love is, what you excel at, in her case drums.
